Caste-Ing
A beatbox-musical depicting the professional and emotional issues faced by Black women within the acting industry. Caste-ing looks unflinchingly at the stories you don’t always hear, the stories people would rather ignore, and the lived experiences that are difficult to put a finger on. It is also a joyful expression of the true nature and beauty of Black women in the industry.
CASTE-ING weaves together an inventive blend of spoken word, beatboxing and song, using the experiences of Black actresses in the UK to create a piece that is truthful, poignant, bold and comedic. Ultimately, Caste-ing is a lyrical benediction for Blacktresses.
